Wages, also known as compensation, are monetary rewards given to employees after their work is completed. Laborers have a fundamental right to be paid immediately after their work is completed. Furthermore, the wage must be adequate to compensate workers for their efforts. However, it has been observed and reported that a significant proportion of workers are not compensated for the work performed. Farmers are the economic backbone of any country. They work on the production of essential foods like vegetables, fruits, and grains. Many people are employed in the multibillion-dollar industry of producing profitable goods such as coffee, clothing, and chocolates. They, too, face problems like poverty and low living standards. Fair trade was founded in response to global poverty, worker mistreatment, climate change, and economic constraints. The organization that advocates for equal rights for workers were founded in 2004. Its motivation and demand are to fairly treat workers who work hard to produce items required for the world's population's survival and improvement. The World Fair Trade Organization has designated the second Saturday in May as the International Day of Fair Trade. Several festivals are being planned around the world to commemorate the Fair-Trade Campaign and to encourage others to join the fight for improved worker rights.
